DISPERSAL OF CIVIL SERVANTS FROM LONDON
LONDON, Feb. 5. Permane'nt dispersal of civil sei'vants among centres outside London was being considered by the - British Government, said the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Hugh Dalton, in reply to a deputation from civil servants evacuated to the provinces during the war and who now wish toYeturn to ILondon. During recent months there ' has been persistent agitation among evacuated civil servants for their return to their old headquarters in London. Many of them-. have been unable to obtain satisfactory accomniodation in the provinces, and in a nuiAber of cases have been compelled to live away from .their families. Mr. Dalton agreed to keep the question of permanent dispersal separate from that of evacuation. '
