A trib-

ute to Britain for what he called "her great fight" to recover her economic position, came from Mr. Chifley, the Australian Prime Minister. Speaking in Canberra, he said the Australian Government felt in duty bound to help Britain in her diffieult position by cooperating as much as possible in the saving of dollars. He thought the battle that Britain was putting up was perhaps not realised by the average Australian.
