MANIPULATION OF NEW YORK BUTTER PRICE
NEW YORK, Jan. 29. Federal District Judge Cox, fined the Dairymen's League Co-operative Association 25,000 dollars and four officers of the association 100 dollars each for manipulating the New York butter market to fix the January miik price. Defendants had pleaded guilty. In New Yo'rk State the wholesale milk price is g'overned by the prevailing price of butter, which in New York has been artificially held at an abnormally high figure for a prolonged period so as to maintain a high milk price.
