The late scratching of Orakau after the totalisator had opened, compelled the club to pay three place dividends although ..there .was a field of seven only. The consistently successful Royal Scot won the Zealandia Handicap brilliantly. The totalisator handled £137,748 10s. There was an atteridance of 17,000.
