From Smithfield Fatigue To Palace Guard
LONDON, January 25. Last week the Kipg's Company of the first hattalion of the- Grenadier Guards. was humping carcases of meat at Smithfield during- the lorry drivers' strike. To-day it mounted guard at Buckingham Palace for -the. first time since 1939'. The • guardsmen have been "otherwise engaged overseas" since they last mounted the Palace Guard.
