SMITH—GARTH.

St. Michael's 'Church, Rotorua, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday, January 18, when Elizabeth (Betty) Frances, second daughter of 'Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Garth, Elizabeth Street, Rotorua, was married to William John, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Smith, Ruahine Street, Palmerston iNorth. Nuptial Mass was celebi'ated by the Rev. A. Wardle, and the Children of Mary provided a guard of honour. The bride, who entered the church with her farther, wore a.picture frock with long-fiHing bodice and long tulle train. Lace mittens completed an early Victorian xixotif. Her beautifully embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of white roses. She carried a shower bouquet of white l-oses and maidenhair ferxx. Attending the bride as matron of honour was lxer sister, Mrs. Beverley M. Lockie, of Gisborne, who wore powder blue silk voile and blue mittens, her head-gear being red roses holding a shoulder-lexigth blue veil. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses. The best man was the bridegxooxxi's brother, Mr. Reginald Sixxith, of Palixxex'ston North. Following the ceremony, a 'reception was held at the Blue Bath tea l'oonxs, where the guests were received by the bride's xixother, who was wearing a navy-and- white ensemble with xxxatching accessories. Her shoulder spray was of pink roses and nxaiden- i hair ferxx. She was assisted by ihe mother of the grooxxx, Mrs. A. Smith, who wore a teal suit with black accessories, completed by a shoulder spray of pink roses. The happy couple, who will make their future home ixx Rotorua, left by car for a tour of the North Islaixd.
