THREE DOWN FOR 192
Englishmen Meet Strong South Australian Team
ADELAIDE, Jan. 24. Just when the M.C.C. ericket team appeared set for a big score against South Axxstralia to-day, a sudden change hit the game. After Washbrook's wicket fell cheaply for 21, Huttcox and Fishlock took England's score from one for 60 runs to 168. Fishlock, however, was never at ease against the slow bowlers Dooland and Oswald, from the moment he set foot at the crease. He was morally beaten a dozen times yet every no-w and again, in desperation, he lashed out for boundax-ies. Against the other xnedium-paced bowlers, both Hutton and Fishlock were comfortable. Bradman was aware thqit Fishlock relished a lofty drive and sent Dooland deep for the batsnxan tc fall into the trap at 5.7, just after the partnership was worth a century, Dooland taking a" sitting catch. In the next ovex', Hutton played i'orward to the left arni bowler Gibson, and the keeper, Vaughton, took a good catch. Hutton's ixxnings was more tradesman-like than brilliant, and he was ccmpelled to keep a wary eye on Dooland in the morning session when the slow bowler was turning the ball greatly and coming olf the pitch with zip. It was significant that Dooland's dismissal of Washbrook was the third time that that bowler has accounted for the Englishman on the three occasions upon which they have met, twice in the third Test, and to-day. At tea, England had three wickets down for 19"2.
