PUBLIC NOTICE S ALTERATION ■ OF BOUNDARIES OF KAINGAROA-RQTORUA FIRE DISTRICT "Uy'HEREAS by a notice published in the Gazette of the 28th day cf February, 1946, at page 278 (hereinafter referred to as the said notice), a certain area in the Auckland Land District was deelared to be a fire district under section 27 of' the Forests Act, 1921-22 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) , and named the "Kaingax*oa-Rotorua Fire District.'' And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the Kainga-roa-Rotoi*ua Fire District: Now, therefcre, in pursuanee of the said Act, and on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry amd of the Land Board of the Auckland Land District, I hereby revoke tbe said notice, and do declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a fire district to be known as the "Kaingafoa-Rotorua Fire District"; and, with respect to the fire district constituted as aforesaid, I do further specify the period from the 1st day of October in any year to the 15th day of April in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said distrjct, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire 01* cause to be set on fire any timber, wliether standing or not, or any undergrowth, or any debris from fcrest operations or land-clearing operations, or any grass or other specially inflammable material, without taking such preeautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer. SCHEDULE , Auckland' Land District. — Rotorua Conservancy Kaingaroa-Rotcrua T'ire District All that area in the Auckland Land District, Tauranga, Matamata, Taupo, Rotorua, and Whakatane Counties, eontaining approximately 1,398,000 acres, and bounded generally as folIows: Commencing at Awakaponga Raihvay-station on the East Coast Main Trunk Railway; thence generally in a sc-uth-westerly direction along the eastern side of a public road and the north-western side of the Rotorua-Whakatane Road to the western boundary of Whakatane County; thence south wards along that boundary to the northern boundary oi permanent State forest (Gazette, 1931, page 3412); thence in an easterly direction along the boundary of the permanent State forest aforesaid and the Pokairoa Stream to the Rangitaiki River; thence proceeding generally southward along the left banks -of the Rangitaiki and Whirinaki Rivers to a point 011 the. left bank of the lastnamed river, situated 40 chains eastward on the right bank of the Rangitaiki River; thence generally southward along a line parallel to and situated 40 chains to the eastward of the right banks of the Rangitaiki and Whaeo Rivers to the Mangaretu Stream; thence southward alc-ng the said stream and the eastern boundaries of Heruiwi No. 4A Nos. 2 and 1 to Trig. Station Tiri Tiri; thence along the soutk-eastern boundary of Heruiwi No. 4A No. 1 ; thence southward and westward along the eastern and southern boundaries cf Pukahunui No. 2 to an angle in the boundary ebout 80 chains north-west of a road; fhonce westward along a straight line for a distanee of about 90 chains to Trig. Station No. 52 (Kokomoka) in Block XIII, Heruiwi Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction along a straight line to Trig. Station No. 50 (Omeruiti) in Block VIT, Maroanui Survey District; thence in a westerly direction along a straight line to Trig. Station 48A in Block VI. Maroanui Survey District; thence along a straight line to- Trig. Station Wairangi in Block VII, Waitahanui Survey District; thence in r. ngi'th -westerly direction along a straight line bctween Trig.
