First Programme of Event£ For Points Trophies The Pererika Street Reserve was 'n fast condition yesterdav when the Rotorua Amateur Athletie and Cyelnig Club resumed iis activities l 'er the holiday recess. There was a r'aii attendance of athletes i'or the firsi programme of points trophy e-ents and some good racing was ■vitnessed. In fcur of the events, stamhird periormanees were recordcd, a sure sign that comjietitors are ?mnro«ing 011 their handicap marks. In the ladies' section, Miss Nairn, a former Aucklander, was successful in all ti ree events. Thc most exciting race on the proi gramme was the tpiarter-mile senior, - an event which always soems to proI duce :i close finish. On this occasicn, i iiearly cvery competitor held the lead 1 at some stage or other, the eventual | winsiers .iust getting up on the tape i te take Ihe deeision.
