BOWLING CLUB'S FOURS COMPETITION CONTINUED
The Rotorua Bowling Club's foxirs competition was continued on Saturday afternoon in good weather cOnditions, although the greens were slightly holding following the earlier rain. Results of the round were as follows: — ' W. Jones 21 v. R. Brownie 16; E. Fowkes 23 v. Dingwall 12; Wallwork 33 v. McMeekin 16; Lindsay 23 v. Butt 18; George 20 v. Cottrell 10; Wallis 33 v. McGuffog 9; E. Budd 29 v. Clax'k 10; Adams 22 v. Hughes 18. Singles Championship With the fou'rth round now conxpleted and some of the following series also played, the club singles championship is now reachixxg an in-tex-esting stage At the end of the fourth round only two players, H. Portman and J. Walker, had not sxxffered a loss, while there were also remaining eight one-lifex-s, including last year's joint club and Bay of Pleixty chanxpion, E. C. Budd. Oix Saturday afternoon, playing the fifth round, Portman was defeated by Walker 19 — 46, while Budd eliminated W. A. Knaggs 18 — 14, and Saunders was also eliminated by J. Anderson 19—17. Results of the games played were as follow": — Fourth Round r Walker 22 v. Anderson 12; Portman 20 v. Knaggs 9; Wald 20 v. Casey 7; Duff 20 v. Collard 18; A. F. Budd 21 v. Adams 20; E. Budd 18 v. Wallwork 9; Saunders won from Fx-ench by default. McGechie a bye. Fifth Round: Walker 19 v. Portman 16; Anderson 19 v. Saunders 17; E. Budd 18 v. Knaggs 14.
