SUNDAY HYMNS IN PUBS
LONDON. Licensing Justices granted Sundaymusic licences to two public houses so that- a Congregational minister can lead the customers 3 in community hymn-singing. The Justices, at Manchester, gave an'other public house a licence extension for what they called 'a good idea." The minister, the Rev. J. A. Ghambers, of thp Zion Congregational Chiurch, Hulme, Manchester, already has tried his plan with success. He drinks lemonade while the customers drinlc ibeer and sing. A short address and a prayer follow. "He told the Daily 'Mirror: ." 'Onward Christian iSoldiers' seems to sound just as good over a pint of heer as in church." ^ -r
