P.W.M.U. Piciiic A comblned picnic was held by thd Presbyterian Women's Mission Unibii and the -Presbyterian Sunday Schobl in Mr. Williamson's paddock at Brandon. It was well attended and a very enjoyable day was spent. A programme of sports was held, the results being as under: — Potato raee: G. Werahiko 1, B. Martelli 2, J. Social and Dance A social and dance were tendered to Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Sim, M.P., last | week-end. Mr. F. Alexander, on behalf of the settlers, presented Mr. Sim with a brief bag and fountain pen in recognition of his sexwices to the district. Mr. Sim suitably replied. The music was supplied by Mr. Mat Wickliffe and refreshments were provided by the ladies. The old Reporoa Post Office has now been removed to the hall section for the use of the W.D.F.U. Mr. H. Alexander met with a painful accident when he cut his arm with an axe while chopping wood. He is progressing favourably. Several Christmas parties for the children, which were presided over by Santa Claus, were held in the district during the Christmas holidays.
