CORNWALL CUP YACHT CONTEST

Auckland Win First Two Races AUCKLAND, last night. Following the abandonment of the race the previous day, the first and second rounds in the Cornwall Cup Championships, for 12ft. class yachts, ■ were sailed on the Waitemata Harbour yesterday. The tirst race icommenced at 10.51 a.m. and the placings and times at the crossing of the finishing line were: ■Auckland, first, crossing- at 11.46, 24secs.; Christchurch second, crossing at 11.47, 30s, and Hamilton third at 11.48, 9s. Akaroa was fourth at 11.48, 55s. In this race the various erews were racing their own boats, jbut ehanged eraft in the second race which began at 2.8 p.m. The Auckland crew were again placed first, their sailing time being two hours 57 minutes 56 seconds. Christchurch was second at two hours 59.16, with Akaroa third at 3.2.14, and Lyttelton fourth 3.3.43.
