Admiral Byrd said he did not dou-bt | that there was vast mineral wealth in : the Antarctica, but atomic bombs were very expensive, and the employment of that method to expose minerals would require several years' training. Tlie U.S. Navy has announced that a search plane has sighted the bnrned wreckage of the Martin Mariner, .which disappeared -over Antarctica. The search plane reported that at least six men were alive near the wreckage. Three are dead.
