METEORS AS TARGETS FOR A.A. GUNS

LONDON, January 10. The R.A.F. will develop radioj controlled Meteor fighters capable of j a speed of nearly -6'00 miles an hour as pilotless targets for training future anti-aircraft gunners. All new types -of tighters in future are to be adaptable as gunnery targets. Radio control will provide the gunners with suitable targets and eliminate the rislc of s'hooting down pilots of tug planes. Tempest fighters being modified to tow Conventional targets will -fill the gap until radio-controlled aircraft are ready.
