! NEW- YORK, Jan. 10. A spokesman of the United States Office of Far Eastern Affairs, revealed to-day in a radio broadcast that the United States wants to start collecting reparations from Japan immediately, "without the agreement of Russia and other wartime Alliqs. Mr. Peterson, Assistant Secretary of the War Department, in the same bi oadcast, (leclared that General MacArthur and ihe Japanese should be tohi without delay what level of industry Japan would be allowed to keep The two officials made it clear that . the idea is to advise the Far Eastern Commission of any action taken, bin not to wait for its formal approval.
