MATINEE MOVIES
"RURAL
DWELLER"
(To The Editor) Sir, — May I respectfully sugges't that the local picture theatres each run one 5 o'clock session on one day v/eekly. This would enable workers who lives a distance from town to attend pictures without incurring a ref'urn trip to town. — I am ete.,
The manager of ' the Regent Theatre, Mr. T. Wilson, pointed out when .this letter was referred to him that the Regent Theatre shows matinee programmes regularly on Wednesdays and S^turdays, and the Majestic Theatre on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, all commencing at 2 p.m. A show at 5 p.m. would not meet the requirements of the great majority of farmers and rural workers, who have to return home early for milking.
