CHANGES IN UNITED STATES COMMANDS

WASHINGTON, Jan, 8. Changes in United States Army commands have been announced ' as follows: — Lieutenant-General L. Clay will suceeed General W. McNarney as Commander of the United States Army forees in Europe". General McNarnoy will join the United States staff on the United Nations Military Staft Committee. ' General Marlc Glark, Commander of the American Occupation Forces in Austria, will be replaced by Lieu-tenant-Genefal Geoffrey Keyes, at present Commander of the Third Army in Germany. General Clark will take command of the United States Sixth Army, with headquai'ters in San Franciseo, _jbut he is not expeeted to return to "the United States until after the Moscow tallts on the Austrian peace treaty, at which he will deputise for , Mf. Byrnes.
