MONTGOMERY BEARS GIFT OF WHISKY
Goodwill Visit to Moscow LONDON, Jan. 7. The gift which Field-Marshal Mcntgomery brought for Marshal Vasilevsky was "sometbiiig to drink," says Reuter's Moscow correspondent. The British United Press said the gift was a case of Scot.ch whisky bearing the imprint "Britain delivers the goods." Viscount Montgomery's visit to Moscow was an achievement of the 1 abour Party hrains trust, said Pro1'essor Harold Laslci in Brussels, acording to the British United Press correspondent. Professor Laski said Viscount Montgomery's visit was intended especially as protection against a third world war, and was undertaken for the purpose o-f discussing militaiy questions. He added that all British Staff secrets were open to the Russians. The main tliing Avas to promote confidence between the Russians and the Allies.
