THREE STRETCHER CASES / tramp1ng party to arrive to-day

Rescued from the scene of the tragedy on Dobson Glacier the surviving members of the party of university trampers were brought to Dobson Hut at the head of the valley this afternoon. The injured left the hut at 9.30 o'clock to-riight and expect to reaeh Glen Lyon station to-morrow morning. Three stretcher cases will go on to the Timaru hos^ital. The bodies of Stanley Allaway and Roy Dickson, two members of the party who lost their lives on Wednesday morning, will be taken to the station hy paclc-horses to-night. None of the injured members of the party is severely injured, while one of the party escaped unhurt. Rain squalls and bad weather dela'yed the rescue work, and a bluff of 200 feet necessitated the stretcher cases being lowered hy ropes. Valuable work was 'done hy bulldozers cutting through shingle faces and clearing 16 miles of roads to the head of the glacier. Further medical supplies were dropped to the party this morning- by plane in response to a request from Glen Lyon.
