REPARATIONS FINES FOR LATE DELIVERY

Finland Paying £1,250,000 Extra LONDON, January 3. Under the fining system provided in the armistice terms, Finland must pay Russia fines of ahiout' £50,000 worth of goods a month until she makes up the , £1,250,000 deficit she incurred in reparations deliveries during 1946, says Reuter's Helsinki eorrespondent. Thus, Finland's annual reparations quota for 1947 will be increased by this amount. The deficit is attrihute'd to difficulty in the ihetal industries in supplying the factory plant, steel cables, dynamos and ships stipulated in the armistice terms. One com.plaint concerns feuibing ordered from Britain which arrived late, resulting- in fines charged hy Russia on the entire plant for which it was intended.
