SUDAN AIRWAYS TO BE DEVELOPED
Sidky Pasha On Conflict Of Interests CAIRO, Jan. 3. The Sudan Gc-vernment is to run an extensive internal airways system to help to speed up administration aHd help the development of the country. The proposed service, which is to he run jointly by the Government and the companies, will operate over some 4000 miles. British planes will be used. "The Sudan auestion has always been an obstacle in the way of a final Anglc--Egyptian agreement hecause of the conflict between the British Imeprialist spirit and Egyptian democracy," the former Prime Minister, Sidky Pasha, told the newspaper Al Ahram. "Even after I signed the new treaty formula with Mr. Bevin, the British Imperialism represented in the British Government interpreted tlie Sudan protocol in a way to defeat any final Anglo-Egyptian agreement." Praising Mr. Bevin for his courage and understanding, Sidky Pasha said Mr. Bevin told him in London: "The Egyptian Treaty is an impc-r-tant issue before me, and if I do-n't succeed, I shall resign."
