MAN SWEPT OUT TO SEA AT PIHA
AUCKLAND, last nisht. While fishing* at - Piha, a holiday- '■ maker was swept off a rock by a rollw I and drowne'd. He was Mr. Walter j-George Pearce, ag'ed 34, of Auckland. ; He leaves a wife and three young I children. With a companion he was fishing ! from a rock. While untangling- a ; caught-up sinker, he was engulfed by • a roller. Mr. Pearce managed to ! hang on to a piece of kelp, but the | next wave carried hina away, and he | was not seen again.
