Birthday Party at Ngongotaha

The Ngongotaha Centennial Hall was gaily decorated Avith streamevs and greenery for the occasion oi the birthday celebrations in honour of Miss Ngaire Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K. M. Martin, Central Road, Ngongotaha. Among the many guests present were members of the Young People's Club of which Ngaire is a member. Floral sprays were presented to Mr*s. Martin and Miss Ngaire Martin by Misses Ngaire Elkington and Loma Catley. A presentation of a picture was made to Miss Martin on behalf of the club by Miss Ruth McLaughlin, who conveyed their best wishes for her birthday. Opportunity was taken to present to Mesdames Currin, Brake and McLaughlin, Christmas gifts as tokens of appreciation for their interest and assistance given to the Young People's Club throughout the year. An enjoyable evening was spent in games and dancing, the rnusic being supplied by Mesdames Currin and Brake. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss Betty Halcrow and Mr. Dick Henderson a(nd the spot waltz 'by /Miss Ngaire Martin and Mr. Len Lilley. The evening concluded Avith thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Martin, carried with musical honours.
