"PEACE AND NOBILITY" OF FRANCO'S SPAIN
MADRID, Jan. 2. Francc-, in a New Year broadcast, exalted the "peace, wellbeing, gentlemanliness and nobility of his regime as opposed to the insults, slander and malice of twisted men." In rel'erring to Spain as a most Catholic nation, Franco said: "Its equality, liberty and justice are those which characterise our acts. If for them we merit the hatred and rancour of the world we are ready to face them. Our pardon goes out to those who have deceived and have tried to injure us, and our disdain to those impertinent schemers who dishonour themselves by insulting us. "Our peace, security and wellbeing are undeniable realities which our enemies seek to cover with a feurtain of insults and slanders."
