BOMBAY PROVINCE TO GO "DRY"
LONDON, Jan. 2. Bombay Province is to go "dry" in four years' time. This decision; affecting 21,000,000 persons, was approved at yesterday's Council of Ministers, says Reuter's -Bombay correspblident. Beginning next April, the Government intends to commence- ?, prohibition programme, firstly by reducing the annual consumption of all types of liquor by 25 per cent, and secondly, by closing shops for progressively longer periods yearly. The official announcement explains that this plan will give drinkers a chance to change their habits and enough time to improve- their way of living. • —
