UNIQUE BARBERS SCHOOL IN TORONTO
TORONTO At the Ganadian Vocational Training Barber School at Toronto civilians can have a haircut, shave, shampoo, and a facial for only 40 cents. The reason is that the school is the training ground1 for ex-servicemen .who are learning the barber trade in rine of the most up-to-date sohools in Canada. Civiiians who. dropiri provide the veterans with practical experience. Instructors walk back and forth checking and re-checlcing, offering 'helpful advice to the dozen or so barber s who* are continually at work throughout the day. Veterans who enlist at the school are given a six-month course during which time they are taught the theory of barbering and given many opporunities to practise. At first the -student practises shaving a halloon. When he can do this withou ibreaking it, he starts shaving his fellow sudents and then graduates to civiiians. In the hair cutting department he starts on the studen s under the careful supeiwision of the instructor, ■ . - -
