MELBOURNE, Dec. 26. America scored two victories in the first day's play of the Davis Cup Challenge at Kooyong Court, Milbourne, to-day, when F. E. Schroeder defeated J. Bromwich, and D. W. Pails wa-v? beaten by J. A. Kramer. Prior to the st$rt of the BromwichSehroeder game, the gallery, which appi oximated 13,500, stood silently for one minute to commemorate the death of Dwight Davis, the founder of the contest.
