Th'e loss of the Australian heavy , cruiser, Canberra, in the fight for the "Solomons in 1942, is recalled in a report just published by the United States Navy. Speaking of mistakes made in the Pacific war, it blames the loss c-f the Canberra cn lack of proper precautions and confusion in relaying messages among the Allies. The report adds that at that time each of the Allies retained control of its own forces.
