Bcs Murphy y. Willie Jones

It is now fairly definite that the boxing contest between Bos Murphy N.Z. welterweight champion, and Willie Jones, Negro welterweight, will be fought at night on the Petone Recreation Ground', with Saturday,; January 25, as the date on which the bout will most dikely be decided. High j hopes are held that the Boxing Council will give its permission to in-v crease the purse from the limit of £300 it imposed. M'urphy has. gone to Tauranga, and the main reason for his visit appears to be whether he can improve on his effoxt of last Boxing Day when he finished third in the "Mt.Hill Climb."
