A "Mere" Christmas
• During a visit to Whakarewarewa yestevday, Miss Xola Luxford was asked to pose for a photograph of her being giveu the hongi by Guide Rangi after the manner of a similar picture taken with Mrs. F. D. Roosevclt, by Mr. J. Thompson, which gained worldyvide recognition. After -she had been invested with the mat, Guide Rangi said to the visitor: "Now I must get yoa a mere." "A mere Christmas?" ■was Miss Luxford's instant retort.
