Penalties Imposed In Court j Yesterday The following breacnes of traffic regulations were clealt -with in the j Magistrates' Court yesterday by Mr. : •S. L.- Paterson, S.M. I On'the information of Inspector B. | P. Mug-geridge, Charles A. Dickinson j (Mr. Potter), was fined £1 for speed- j ing just outside the borough boundary. Andrew D. Hardie i(Mr. Roe) J was fined £1 for having a ve'hiele with j a defective liand-hrake and I'Os. on i charges of the same truek having no i windscreen wiper, and a warning de- j vice not in working condition. For . driving without a licence Ivan Haumaka and Maui Kingi were each fined 10s. For speeding, Conrad €. Matthew and Edward Wright were fined £2, and Thomas A. Turner £1. When Joseph Kiel was charged with having a defective hand-brake, the inspector said that defendant had produced a warrant for fitness exactly one hour old. Inquiries were being made by the Transport Department, he said, in answer to the magistrate, who fined defendant £2. Colin J. McEwan, charged with driving a vehicle with a defective hand-brake, claimed that he had secured a warrant of fitness a week before. He Avas fined ,10s. On the information of Inspector H. H. S. Short, 'Charles S. Andrews was fined £1 for driving on the incorrect side of the road, and Vaudrey Burton was penalised a similar sum for cutting- a corner. John W. H. Cresswell, who allowed a man to ride on the running-board of his vehicle, whieh eonstitutes dangerous loading, was also fined £1. Parking too elose to a fire hydrant eost Catherine A. Mahee, Mabel Morris and Eileen D. Wimble each £1. Fof parking on a bus stop Irene Ford was fined 10s., and Raymond R. Hill, for standing* a vehicle on the footpath, was penalised 10s. also. Reginald A. Keesing was fined £1 for failing to give way to traffic on his right.
