The annual parade of the Ngakuru School Calf 'Cluh was held on Wednesday at thq hall and grounds, before a large attendance. Though the numhers of animals paraded, 33 calves ,xnd 10 yearlings, was not up to last year's, the standard was higher, in the opinion of the judge, Mr. K. A. Bennett, of Papamoa, Te Puke. The ladies of the committee provided refreshments, the children being i-egaled on ca'kes and .sandwiches, icejream and soft drinks. At the presentation of trophies Mr. Bennett praised the competitors for the fine condition in which they had paraded their animals, and gave them much useful advice. Mr. Frost Ahairman of the School Committee, eon'gratulated t'he children on the re>ord numher of tickets sold, and thankcd the ladies for their eflforts in feeding the multitude.
