Wick Votes Liquor Return:
After
26 years, Wick, in Caithness, Scotland, ceased to be a "dry" area at the sixth attempt. The "wets" yesterday scored a victory by a majority of 441. The town voted itself "dry" in 1920 and the polls in 1923, 1926, 1931, and 1937, uphbld that decision. The "wets" are rejoicing but it will still be a dry New Year for Wick because the Licensing Court does not meet until April. "
