SECOND CRICKET TEST COMMENCES TO-DAY
To-day, at Sydney, the second of the crieket Test series, England v. Australia, will commence at the Sydney crieket ground and may continue until stumps are drawn on December 19. . Australia won the first contest hy an innings and 332 runs. Only one change has been made in the Australian team, Freer, a Victorian medium-paced right-hand bowler, replacing Lindwall, who contracted chicken po-x during the first Test. The English side will be the same, except that G. Evans replaces P. Gibb as wicket-keeper. Arrangements for broadcast over New Zealand radio 'stations to-day, follpwing the commencement of play at 2 p.m., are for short commentaries at 3.15 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m., with a summary of the day's play following the 11 p.m. news session. The third Test will he played at Melbo-urne from January 1 to 7, the , f ourth at Ad'elaide from January 31 to February 6 and the fifth at Sydney from February 28 to March 6. All these games will be six-day matches except the final Test, which can be played to a finish if necessary.
