The following statement has been issued from the Auckland headquarters of the Plunket Society: "In view of the strong protest entered by the Wellington branch and its request for a .general conf erence, which is enddVsed by the Auckland ex'ecutive, Miss Fitzgibbon has communicated with the Central Council declining to accept the position which has • been offered her."
