rain interferes ONLY FOUR SEMI-FINALS DECIDED YESTERDAY MORNING REMAINING MATCHES TO-DAY Although play in the Rotorua Lawn Tennis Club's open tourney was continued yesterday morning, heavy rain eventually necessitated a postponement for the day after only fiur of the semi-finals had been decided. As a result the remaining semi-finals will be played this morning and in the afternoon the finals in the various seetions. The results of games played yesterday morning before a postponement was decided upon were as follows : — Championships Ladies' Singles : — Semi-final, Miss N. Beverley • beat Miss McCready, 6_1, 6—0. Men's Doubles: — Semi-final, Andrews and Roacb beat Gray and Smith, 6 — 0, 6 — 2. Handicap Matches Men's Singles: — Semi-final, Haggard beat Lewis, 11 — 7. Combined Doubles: — Roseman and Miss Hall beat Brown and Miss Brown, 11 — 4. The draw for this moming's play is as follows (all other players being required to attend at 9.30 a.m.) : — 8.30 a.m. — Championship combined doubles, Charters and Miss N. Beverley v. Miller and Miss M. Beverley. 9 a.m. — Championship singles, Roy v. Elliott; Miss Haggitt v. Miss Mackay. Handicap singles, Mayson V. Murphy; Miss Waters v. Miss McCready. Handicap doubles, Brown and Elliott v. Wilson and Wilson; Mitchell and Jacobs v. Kent and Lewis; Misses Steele and Evans v. Misses Beverley. Combined handicap doubles, Murphy and Miss Bottrell v. Cameron and Miss Cameron; Walker and Miss Steele v. Mitchell and Miss Mitchell; Roseman and Miss Hall v. Wilson and Miss Mitchell. Championship combined doubles, Jobns and Miss Haggitt v. Macfarlane and Miss Waters. Afternoon: Finals.
