EVENING SPORTS MEETING ON GOYT. GROUNDS TO-NIGHT This evening commencing at 7 p.msharp on the Govtrnmen'fc Grounds an interesting athletic and cycling contest will take place between Rotorua and Wellington in athletic events and Rotorua and Auckland in cycling bvents. All events will he ;un oif scratch and points will be a warded as follows: 3 for 1st, 2 for 2 d, and 11 for 3rd place in eaeh event. Patrons can rest assured th; t some keen races and close fin-ishen .vill be seen. Admission is free but a collection will be made. (Sh'ot: Sheaf, Peterson, Herewini (Rotorua), Perry, Phillips, Furlong (Wellington). Hop, Step and Jump: Hiekey, Herewini, Hale (Rotorua), Schneideman, Perry, Phillips (Wellington). First Cycle Event: Bel'l, Gr-y, Head H'-owe (Rotorua), Dwiglit, A arkham, Nicholson, Sullivan (Auckland). 440 Yards: K. Matthews, Barber (Rotorua), Crowe, Phillips (Wellington)* High Jump. Christophers (Rotorua) Perry (Wellington). i220 Yards: Steele, Young (Rotorua), Furlong, Welphy (Wehinigfton). [Second Cycle Event: Sam© riders is for first cycle event.
