KITTEN'S BROKEN HEART BECAUSE DOG PAL DIED
London, Nov. 25. This is the story of a perfect love and understanding which existed between a dog and a kitten. When Tiger, a kitten of only a few days old, was ignored by her mother, she enjoyed the companionship of an old Labrador retriever. She would jump over him when he lay' in the sun, box his ears in play, and snuggle against him when he came indoors. Then one day the dog died. Tiger searched all the old haunts in a frantic endeavour to find her shaggy companion. Realising that she would not see him again she simply gave up living. She refused her food, pined away, and died four days later of a broken heart. Mr. Cecil Headlom, of Charing, Kent, told a Daily Mail reporter that the dog, whom he named Dio, was an abbreviation of Diogenes, was 14 when he died. "Since - the day Tiger was born Dio took ,every interest in her," he said. "WbAn Dio died, the kitten, for the first time since we have had her, stayed out all night searching for her pal."
