SWARMING SO THICKLY THAT OBSTRUCTED TRAIN

Melbourrie. Dec. 27. A train was stopped at Woolmai, in the Gippsland district, owing to caterpillars swarming over the lines. Sand had to be used on the rails. The district is suffering from a plague of caterpillars, and stacks bf pats haye been transformed into black masses of caterpillars.
