Christchurch, Tuesday. Excitement was caused at Lyttelton on Saturday night, when one of a party of boys lebting off fireworks in London Street threw a lighted cracker into ffne stall of a Chipese fruiterer where there were large parcels of all kinds of fireworks. . Immediately there wais a succession of explosions in all dir.ections, with sky roekets shopting into the h.eavens and mountain lights blazing merpily while the .Chinese yelled excitedly. Finally the brigade had to turn out ap.d play ,ai lead on to the stall. TJie damage is pstimated at £40.
