Dunedin, Saturday. Retracting a statemerit made to the widow of a man whose body was found in the harbour, that deceased had been the victim of foul play, a witness at the inquesit concerning the death of Wiilliam George Pollock (46), whose body was found on December 14, admitted that his suggestio.n of foul play was unfounded, and that he was pretty drunk when he made it The coroner described the statemenit as "the vapourings of a drunken man" and commented on the panic caused the widow by such' a foaseless statement. A verdict of "suicide by drowning" was returned.
