TIMARU SALE . Timaru, Saturday. The first wool sale of the current season was held to-day, when 10,805 bales were submitted to a large beneh of buyers, in the presence of an unusually large gathering of the public, who evinced keen interest in the proceedings. Competition was spirited, prices being definitely firm on Christchurch. Super Meniro brought to 20 £d, and the top price for halfbred was 213d, inferior realising 16d. Three-quarterbred brought from 133d to 193d, crossbred 6|d to 15!d, Corriedale from 154d to'194d. Pieces sold to 193d for Merino, 20d for halfbred 12 4d, for three-'quar-terbred, 8d for crossbred, and 153d for Corriedale; bellies, Merino to 13d, halfbred to 141d, three-quar-terbred to lOd, crossbred 93d; necks, Merino to 18|d, halfbred to 19d, three-quarterbred to 164d; locks, Merino to lOd, halfbred to 8£d, threequarterbred to 6d. Passings represented a very small percentage. Mr. J. F. K. Jemieson received top price for halfbred, 21 3-8d.
