The Govnrnmont metoorolopnat !aeued the following weathor report and forecast !a«t night: — General situation: A slight depression has been crossing the South Island and is being followed by an intense one whieh covers the western half of the Tasman Sea. Winds : Moderate to strong northerlies of -gale force in places. Weather: Fair to cloudy. Warm at first generally, but soon becoming unsettled in districts with a westerly aspect. Some scattered rain. Indications are that fairly general rain will develop during the week-end. Following are the barometer, maxlmum and minlmum thermometsr, sunshine, and rainfall readjnga recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
