EXECUTIVE MEETING
NO CUP COMPETITIONS DURING CHRISTMAS. WEEK DRAW FOR SATURDAY •The usual fortnightly meeting of the Rotorua Cricket Association was held on Mbnday evening, Mr. H. L. Musgrave presiding. A letter w(as received from the secretary of the New Zealand Council advising that the association's application for an interpretation on the result of the Old Boys v. City match had been received and would be considered at the forthcoming meeting of the council. In reply to a request for information the secretary of the Herbert -Smith Trust forwarded a circular setting out the necessary requirements of applieations for trophies. It was pointed out that the conditions applied only in r-espect of trophies for athletic events and therefore grants could not he made in respect of gear or equipment. However, a bat could 'be presented for a batting or bowling average, provided it was presented to an individual between the aiges of nine and 15 years. -It was decided to defer consideration of application for a grant until a report was received from a sub-committee comprising Messrs H. L. Musgrave, L. Clark and L. H. Gresham. Mr. H. Duncan, country delegate, Auckland Cricket Association forwarded a copy of coaching notes for primary school players but it was decided to defer consideration of this matter until after the holidays. Following some discussion it was agreed that the final series of the first round in the McLean Cup competition should be commenced on Saturday next and the second day's play postponed until January 6, 1934. The draw was arranged as follows: — Albion v. High School, at High S-chool. Ngongotaha v. Old Boys, Government Grounds. Mamaku v. City, at Mamaku.
