MR. CRONIN ARRESTED
DEFIANT BLUE SHIRTS London, Dec. 9. Civic guards at Bundoran arrested Mr. Cronin, who was still wearing his blue shirt, and detained him pending instructions from Dublin. General O'Duffy declares, "This is the Government's first step to persecute Irish youth in order to prevent political opposition." True to his promise, General O'Duffy wore a .blue shirt when addressing a Glenties audience and informed them that the Government represented only half of the Irish race. Messrs Cosgrave and Dillon were enthusiastically received at_ Ballybosey where many blue shirts and blouses were worn. Interference with the electric supply darlcened half the town while Mr. Cosgrave was speaking. The police seized the Young Irish Association's Stephen's Green BlueShirt headquarters in Merrion Square, Dublin, and forbade the printerS to print any further party literature. The Blue Shirts are taking legal action against the police. Three arrests were made at Clonmel on charges of illegal possession of fire-arms and ammunition.
