LATEST REPORTS DISAPPEARANCE OF A NEIGHBOUR* CAUSES A STIR found in auckland

(Special to "Post.") Huntly, Monday. Some excitement was caused in the Ruawaro district to-day when it was report&d that Mi*. William Bayly, the nearest neighbour of the Lakey's, had 'disappeared: He'was said -to have visited -Auckland -yesterday, l'eaving his fa-rm at about 11 a.m. In the city, it 'is believed, he consulted a' wellknown firm of solicitors and returned to Ruawaro in the evening. ■ Awaking his wife in ' the early hours of this morning, Mr. Bayly kissed her and left the house. Thinking he was going out to milk Mrs. Bayly went to sleep again, and did not -arise till her usual time, ..some hours later. On entering the kitchen she found a note on the table. It was at flrst rumoured that this note contained a. farewell message, but Mrs. Bayly says- this was ineorrect. It appears from latest reports that Mr. Bayly had gone to Auckland on business. :
