London, Nov. 30. Th'e Australian Press Association's correspondent at Paris says Mr. Voss ■has informed the Colmanonwealjth of France's desire to- negotiaite a trade treaty. The MJipistry of Commerce's spo^esman points out that despife Australian wheat and butter being suhjected to a 200 per cent. surtax Australia's exports to-France in 1932 were worth £7,000,000,' wbjereas France's • exports to- Australia were only £1,200,000. A treaty may enable France to counter the Japanese silk invasion in Australia, and give advantage to Australian wool, fruit and frozen meat' in the Frerich market.
