WHAKAREWAREWA RESERVE
IThis is a mass of intense thermal activity, containing many geysers, fumaroles and mud pools. Admission is free but the employment of a guide is advised. Buses leave the Bank of New Zealand corner, Penton Street, every 15 minutes. A guide can be obtained at the destination. Official guiding fee is 1/- per person. The trip takes about two hours.
