XMAS BUTTER
GOOD SALEI REPORTED FOR NEW ZEALAND CARTONS MARKET DEPRESSED (Press Assn.— By Telegraph— Copyright). ' (Rec. Nov. 27) London, Nov. 26. Saies for the Christmas consumption of butter continue remarkably good, thanks to the low retail prices. Some stores are selling Australian "Kanganoo" hnand at 9§d per lb., others lOd and lld. Several firms are packing Australian and New Zealand butter in 11b and Mb cartons, which is proving very attractive. The market, however, is overshadowed hy heavy prospective supplies, no fewer than 1,170,840 boxes being .afloat from Australia, New Zealand and Argentine, and consequently prices of Australian and New Zealand dropped eight shillings this week iBuyers show more disposition to operate at these lower prices. The outlook is not regarded as promising. Th'e egg market also is depressed for the same reasons, English ' and Continental are plentiful due to the, continuance of mild open weather. It is reported that 75,000 cases of Aus- , tralian eggs are due to arrive next ; week.
